Mission Statement

"Save a Life, Save a Nation!"

Our Mission is to support the underserved individuals or families of the St. Louis Metropolitan
community by generating avenues that will improve quality of life, create opportunities towards
advancement in social services, economic and spiritual growth as well as rebuild debilitating life skills
also to provide a nurturing, emotional healing environment for strugglers of chronic or fatal health and
domestic abuse conditions with emphasis on increasing financial stability, employment readiness and
youth development.

History

“SAVE A LIFE, SAVE A NATION”!

Mrs. Linda Townsend is Founder and CEO of the SPIRIT OF HOPE FOUNDATION, established and incorporated as a 501c3 Non- Profit Organization, April 6, 2016, to umbrella “Sisters Let’s Walk” Breast Cancer Support Group and KH/STLHA Scholarship Program.

From a vision she stepped out on faith and brought together a team designed to bring a greater awareness, as well as function as a vehicle providing resources in needed communities. SOHF's focus is on serving children, young adults and seniors with programs that include: Scholarship Opportunities, Tutoring, Continued Education, Breast Cancer Awareness and Support, Domestic Abuse Awareness and Intervention, Homeless Outreach and Physical and Spiritual Health and Fitness.

“Sisters Let’s Walk” Breast Cancer Support Group

Spirit of Hope Foundation and it's founder for the past 14 years has promoted awareness and provided resources to a forgotten group, African American women and other minorities struggling with Breast Cancer.

Fueled by her personal experience of losing her mother and grandmother to breast cancer at an early age and the diagnosis of herself and her sister started her engine! This prompted the birth of an organization that works with women and other family members by standing in the gap, opening doors and promoting physical and spiritual empowerment during critical times.

While working on behalf of others to battle the odds and overcome the many challenges they face, SOHF has endeavored to make available information, resources, consultation and free or low cost screenings for those in need. Adding a personal touch for those fearing the process, SOHF has members that will accompany fellow sisters to doctor visits, chemo or radiation treatments or arrange and provide transportation.

SOHF's driving force allows the organization to be a strong supporter of cancer research on all levels. Sponsoring an Annual Breast Cancer Brunch since 2007, attendance has tripled and has been an outreach platform to inspire and touch the lives of many.

By empowering the sisterhood (all women) into taking an active role in promoting and supporting Breast Cancer Awareness and Research, Spirit of Hope Foundation is confident that the power of GOD works in medicine and that early detection will make a difference and help bring about a cancer free society.
