"Helping Families to Live Better Safer"

Affordable, safe housing or the lack of such, is the second biggest problem facing citizens in St. Louis, Missouri. One out of every four families in this city are without suitable housing options and face danger and the elements of weather every night. One in seven children of school age or effectively homeless and nutritionally under served.

Spirit of Hope Foundation is dedicated to do it's part in changing these facts and affecting the dynamics of the population to allow those with housing challenges to locate and afford a decent place to live. There are several programs and agencies through out the city and county that can provide housing assistance but unfortunately many of the most needy do not have the resources to seek this help.

Many individuals get caught in the swarm of bureaucracy that says "you can't get help if you don't have an identity, you can't get an identity unless you have an address, you can't get an address unless you have money....but, you can't get the money unless you have an address."

Here are some of the local resources that can help you on the road to livable housing options and the answer to some of the most pressing questions in this area:

The St. Louis Housing Authority (SLHA) Section 8/Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) waiting list is CLOSED. The Online Portal is currently closed

Can I buy a home with low income?

You can also buy a house using a government-backed mortgage, like FHA or USDA. With these programs, the government essentially insures the loan, so you can buy with a lower income, credit score, or down payment than you could otherwise.

Are there any programs to help single moms buy a house?

The Family Home Guarantee Scheme. The federal government has launched an initiative to allow single parents to take out a home loan deposit with as little as 2% (subject to being able to service home loan repayments).
